If you are a smoker and want to raise your child well....quit smoking....this very minute! Millions of children suffer from the impacts of passive smoking and do not have optimum physical or mental health. Passive smoking can lead to exacerbation of allergies and asthma and cause recurrent adenoiditis and snoring. This further reduces blood supply to brain leading to sleep disturbances, decreased intelligence, attention deficit and hyperactivity. Above all, a parent is a role model to the child and there is a good chance that a smoker’s child ends up being a smoker! The allergens and carcinogens of smoking linger in the breath of the smoker upto 24 hours after smoking which means to say....even if you smoke outside the house, you still end up causing detrimental health effects to your child and other family members!
