Force feeding babies or even children, is not a healthy practice. Though the baby may eat more during the moment, in the log run, baby will develop aversion to new food and meal times. The baby may stop relishing food flavors and textures.
Force feeding also curbs the development of natural instincts of the baby which are neceesary for future life. Such practices also prevent the baby from understanding his or her own body which is crucial for long term nutritional behaviours.
Force feeding decreases self esteem and makes the child low and depressed. Certain school age behaviours like stealing, aggression or staying aloof, can have their roots to force feeding in infancy.
By force feeding a child, we are actually teaching the child to accept any nonsense that the child encounters in future life, silently. In the sense, we are brewing a pattern of silent sufferers in our own kids, without realising. It is complete nonsense parenting.
